From the densely wooded riverbends, to the open outback paddocks, there are opportunities to experience the native wildlife, try your hand at fishing in the river, take a 4wd across the beautiful landscape.
No matter what type of holiday you’re looking for, Kallara Station has something for everyone!
Choose from authentic country style living in our ensuite, Coolabah Lodge or budget style Fishermans’ Huts with shared facilities.
If you’re looking for a more secluded and private experience, pitch a tent and camp in one of the many riverbank camping spots available on the property. We can cater to campervans and caravans with hot showers, toilets, powered and unpowered sites available. Kallara Station offers a unique outback experience in the heart of country NSW.
Our beautiful, secluded sites allow you to come in and set up camp right on the Darling Riverbank. We have lots of open space, so can cater for larger groups and families. Camp kitchen is available too. We are pretty laidback about our campgrounds; we want you to have a great time while you stay with us. Light yourself a campfire, cook up a camp oven and soak up the serenity of the Tilpa scenery.
We really hope you enjoy your experience while staying at Kallara Station. First and foremost, Kallara Station a working sheep station, but it is also the avid fisherman’s’ dream. Try yabbying along the riverbank or in one of the many billabongs on the vast property grounds. Fish for the very elusive Murray Cod (in season of course) or the delicious Yellow Belly from the waters of the Darling River, or simply, pull up a chair and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Outback.
For the more adventurous individual or group, a mud map is available on request where you can enjoy 4WDing around the tracks covering the property (depending on the season) and taking in the breathtaking landscapes.
Take a walk up to the Kallara Station cemetery and pay your respects to the late Captain Thomas Johnston, or perhaps take a road trip to Tilpa and enjoy an authentic pub style meal at Tilpa’s original hotel – The Royal or locally known as the Tilpa Pub.
Whatever you choose to do, make the time you spend at Kallara Station a unique and memorable experience!
